About Us

ProWorks Enterprises, LLC is a veteran-owned general contracting firm in Poulsbo, Washington. We proudly serve government and commercial customers in the Pacific Northwest, and residential customers on the Kitsap Peninsula and surrounding areas.

Meet Sam Jones: Marine Corps veteran, former police officer, and experienced tradesman. His core values of integrity, quality, fairness, and hard work show in every ProWorks project. If he wouldn’t build it in his home, he won’t build it in yours.

Why ProWorks?

Our philosophy is simple:

High quality work, high-quality materials, and excellent service.

Here’s how we strive to perform to those standards every day:

High-Quality Work:

ProWorks has been involved with construction around the country. We’ve dealt with -30 temperatures in the Midwest, and more than 170 inches of yearly rain in Southeast Alaska. Snow, rain, wind, saltwater, and humidity, all take their toll on buildings. In our years of remodels and repairs, we know what works and we know what doesn’t. Based on years of training and experience, we combine the best methods to provide the most durable, low maintenance, and cost-effective construction we can.

Here are a few examples:

  • Grading: Builders are notorious for saving a few dollars and building foundations too low to the ground. Without at least 6″ of space between dirt and siding, and another 6″ of positive slope away from the foundation, it’s a recipe for trouble. We pre-plan each project to keep wood away from dirt and keep water away from buildings.
  • Reinforcement: All of our exterior concrete gets steel reinforcement. Most PNW concrete contractors skip the rebar, but we do it anyway. Why? Because steel reinforcement might make the difference between 10 years of crack-free concrete and 50 years of crack-free concrete.
  • Flashing/ drainage: We go far beyond building code standards to waterproof our windows and doors. These notoriously leaky areas can quickly ruin buildings in the Pacific Northwest. We carefully flash them to ensure a leaky window will never ruin the wall below it. We also use drainable house wraps to ensure that any moisture behind the siding can escape quickly.
  • Solid lumber: If the option is double 2×12’s or a single 4×12, we use the 4×12. If the post should be a 4×4 or a 6×6, we use the 6×6. Whenever possible, we use full-length solid sawn beams, joists, and headers. It makes your building stronger, more fire-resistant, and better looking

High-Quality Materials:

High quality work is a good start, but high-quality materials complete the package. We work with the best suppliers in the area to get the best quality materials we can while keeping projects on time and budget.

Here are a few examples:

  • Plywood VS OSB: It’s widely accepted among contractors that plywood is a better material than OSB (Oriented Strand Board). Most contractors build with OSB because it’s cheaper. But, we always sheath our floors, walls, and roofs with plywood.
  • Cedar exteriors: If we’re installing wood outside, it’s either pressure treated or it’s factory primed cedar (unless we’re staining of course). Cedar has superior rot-resistance compared to any other common wood in the Northwest. Many builders hide cheaper wood behind a layer of paint. But, we always use cedar, and we believe in a factory-primed finish to provide a layer of moisture resistance on all 6 sides of the board.
  • Mold resistant drywall: The name says it all. With our moisture-rich environments, it only makes sense to use mold-resistant drywall throughout your building.
  • Paint: Our go-to products are KILZ primer and Sherwin Williams Super Paints for interior and exterior applications. They’re both highly durable products that will look beautiful for years.
  • Hardware: We always stick with name brand hardware like Kohler, Moen, Schlage, Simpson, and more. These trusted brands are of high quality, readily available, and easily fixed.

Excellent Service:

Great quality and great products is a great start, but it means nothing if we don’t provide clients with the service they expect. Just like we build for you the same way we build for ourselves, we treat you the same way we want to be treated.

Here are a few of the ways we strive to provide excellent service:

  • Communication: It seems the biggest breakdown in relationships is a lack of communication. Whether things are going great or there’s something unexpected, you’re the first to know. Calls, e-mails, or texts – we keep ourselves available for you.
  • Integrity: We say what we mean and we mean what say. From the first meeting, we do our best to set realistic expectations. Then we do everything in our power to meet and exceed those expectations.
  • Respect: We believe in the simple principle of mutual respect. We’re always friendly, we’re considerate of your home or property, and we stay attentive to your needs.
  • Cleanliness: Construction is messy, but we believe in exceptionally clean job sites. We do our best to isolate work areas, remove garbage quickly, and keep tools and materials organized. Not only does it look good, but it also helps jobs run safely and efficiently.
  • Professionalism: We believe in being professionals and working with professionals. We thoroughly vet every employee and contractor by checking backgrounds, references, licenses, insurance, and more. Now that we’ve built a family of excellent contractors, we all work towards a common goal of great work, great products, and great service.
